Biography
Angie Ryan began practicing yoga in 2009 after she was injured while training as a competitive distance runner. She went to nine different doctors with no relief, and began to think she was headed into a wheelchair when a friend invited her to her first yoga class. Her initial thoughts were, "I can barely walk, I am overweight & yoga looks too passive to help me." Angie soon found out she was wrong; yoga was an unexpected and fun challenge. After three years of practicing yoga, wanting to learn more, she read every book she could about yoga and completed her RYT (Registered YogaTeacher)-200 hour training under Michele Wilkerson through Yoga7even. Angie has over 1000 hour of teaching experience and is Yoga Alliance certified and a continuing education provider for yoga teachers. Angie loves teaching beginners; she also likes teaching a slower paced vinyasa, yoga at The Great Yoga Wall, restorative, chair yoga, yoga at the wall, meditation & pranayama (breathing practices). When Angie discovered that yoga has the potential to heal the body she decided to get more education in anatomy, the brain & pain reduction. She loves to help students in pain find health again. Angie seeks to pass on her compassion, knowledge and yoga practice with her students.
